The CPAC Rome workshop will bring academic and industrial experts together to discuss processing strategies to develop new, sustainable, bio-based materials. A key tool for succeeding in this quest will of-course be process analytical technology (PAT), which has a proven track record of improving the process efficiency of new bio-tech and flow chemistry production applications and well-established oral-solid-dose pharmaceutical lines. Therefore, by implementing PAT Optimal will show it is possible to apply well-established methods for new applications.
synTQ, the PAT platform developed by Optimal is also significant in that it can be used holistically to optimise the processes during lab development stages right-through to full production. The software enables the measurement of product quality attributes non-destructively and in real-time via multivariate data models, which allows the operators or the system itself to automatically adjust the process to improve the output.
By providing an in-depth understanding of the processes together with effect of the key parameters, and by monitoring and controlling the system in real-time, quality is built into the process rather than the traditional Quality by Testing, ‘after the fact’ approach. This makes the development of new materials very effective in terms of time, resource, quality and cost. The user effectively uses synTQ to transform data into understanding, then to knowledge, so that the whole process can be established, monitored, controlled, and improved using PAT.
The benefits of PAT platforms such as synTQ will be outlined by Martin Gadsby, Director at Optimal Industrial Technologies, in person on the 21st March from 16:50 to 17:20. The presentation, titled “Real Time PAT-Based Knowledge Management and Control in Continuous Processes”, will cover topics that include learning from successful examples PAT implementations, as well as how to make real-time predictions and visualisations using synTQ.
